  I was wondering how do one launch a UAV and retrieve it on a moving vessel out at sea during combat operations. Must have been a feat.

  Usually retrieval is done by flying the UAV into a net set up on the ship.

  i think it is navigated via gps and it can make its own way back to cab.

  Perhaps they may turn one of the Endurance class ship into a intelligence gathering vessel, in whic the UAV is launched on the landing pad supposed for the helicopter usage or maybe even like the WW1 or WW2 battleships in which they are catapult launched. Any technical specifics?
