Hahha... I am reminded of the "point of view" gun from Hitchhiker's Guide to the Universe". Now, that's one weapon I'd like to have! :-)Originally posted by Bontakun:All because of some individual's selfish desires or twisted commitments, are the rest to blindly follow and kill one another without questioning the morality behind it? But deep down inside, we all have the same coloured (or very near red) blood, organs, heart, 2 legs or hands (I know I know, some do not have but you get my drift).

That's nothing. Warhammer 40K Space Marine armor and Dark Trooper Phase III would kick Halo's ass like nothing.Originally posted by SingaporeTyrannosaur:MJOLNIR battle armor, the latest mark would be cool:
And there's its real world counterpart (without energy shielding, hydrostatic gel system, strength augmentations and advanced armour), the Trojan Suit:
yar... But you noe in da novel (later books) dat there is one small ship dat is more valuable than da death star? Sun smth or wat... Its so tough and fast dat you can use it to ram THROUGH a star destroyer and stay in one piece.Originally posted by Meia Gisborn:Yah, but think of the maintenance, fuel and insurance costs to run it.

A steady diet of McDonald's fare kills, but it just doesn't kill fast enough. In today's 'instant gratification' society, nothing short of immediate death would suffice!Originally posted by Gedanken:A stack of McDonald's franchise agreements. You kill people slowly and make a neat pile of dosh while you're at it.
Yes, but that's more in the realm of fantasy then "hard" science fiction... in which case anything goes.Originally posted by Fingolfin_Noldor:That's nothing. Warhammer 40K Space Marine armor and Dark Trooper Phase III would kick Halo's ass like nothing.
I believe it was the Sun Crusher... a tiny starfighter craft that was ridiculusly powerful and whose main weapon was supernova torpedos (that is it fired torpedos that caused suns to go supernova, making it billion of times more destuctive then the death star).Originally posted by Bontakun:yar... How they 'destroy' it was to set it on auto pilot and guide it into a black hole...
That was the single most ridiculous, powerful 'realistic' weapon. How 'realistic' it is is questionable but it definately beats Unicron or Galactus or Apocalyspe or Doomsday or Squirrel Girl.Originally posted by SingaporeTyrannosaur:I believe it was the Sun Crusher... a tiny starfighter craft that was ridiculusly powerful and whose main weapon was supernova torpedos (that is it fired torpedos that caused suns to go supernova, making it billion of times more destuctive then the death star).
And it's quantum armour was so powerful, it could take a glancing hit from the prototype Death Star superlaser though it was damaged in the process and finally destroyed when it fell (along with the prototype Death Star), in a black hole.
In my opinion, a ridiculusly powerful weapon.
The level of destruction caused by the Sun Crusher (supernova), is millions of times more powerful then anything Galactus or Unicron and all those other villians are capable of.Originally posted by Bontakun:That was the single most ridiculous, powerful 'realistic' weapon. How so? Space Marine armor is powered armour just like Halo, and they use projectile weapons too, though with bigger and faster rounds. Jump packs and all aren't too "fantasy". Plus, the space marines themselves have some degree of genetic engineering like Halo.Originally posted by SingaporeTyrannosaur:Yes, but that's more in the realm of fantasy then "hard" science fiction... in which case anything goes.
The nice thing about the Halo universe is that they try to keep things still in relation to modern technology, like how despite being 300 years in the future they are still using projectile weapons and that sort of technology.
Bungie purposely made that move in their game design to allow their players to relate easier to the human side, which is really cool.
The Galaxy gun is a far more powerful weapon, though it doesn't destroy stars.Originally posted by SingaporeTyrannosaur:I believe it was the Sun Crusher... a tiny starfighter craft that was ridiculusly powerful and whose main weapon was supernova torpedos (that is it fired torpedos that caused suns to go supernova, making it billion of times more destuctive then the death star).

I always wondered how they account for the recoil generated by that thing... and how does the steel round survive the frictional heating from air by being accelerated to relativistic velocities without turning into plasma?Originally posted by Chuichi Koshiramaru:MEC Gauss MiniGun
The MEC Gauss is of Chinese design. It uses multiple electromagnetic fields to propel over 90,000 2mm steel rounds per minute to relativistic velocities.
Its range, accuracy and stopping power is almost unparalleled.
No way man, the payload of the Galaxy gun was far less then the destructive effects of the Sun Crusher supernova effect... though of course the Sun Crusher "cheats" by using a star as it's weapon.Originally posted by Fingolfin_Noldor:The Galaxy gun is a far more powerful weapon, though it doesn't destroy stars.
Think Galactic spanning ICBM.
