  the siliencer is wonderful. why would they need something like that? always thought loud noises are a prerequsite for artillery.

  If I'm not wrong it was use to minimise the noise during live firing exercises so not to upset civilian neighbours

  the silencer is only for training purposes. We do our arty training in other countries so no such civilian complains.
