if you say multinational programmes got problems, F-35 is the same also....so your reasoning is kinda bias also.....Originally posted by audiovideo:it will be great if SG can get some eurofighters
but given it's multination problems...really is quite a risk to buy it
Agree on this... Our environmental factor is considered to be high humidity all year round and highly condusive for corrosion to set in fast...Originally posted by coolant:DonÂ’t underestimate the maintenance for a stealth fighter. The humid & warm tropical weather condition is always a challenge to maintain heavily RAM coated stealth plane like F35. Yanks tested F22 in a dry cool desert range and when they deployed B-2( or F-22) to GUAM for a short period, they had to build special hanger to maintain even temperature and dry, and even though, they still withdraw B-2 to mainland America only after a short deployment period, the same thing, we see F-22 only deployed swiftly in Okinawa. The fact is, we yet to see any stealth fighters being ever deployed to humid and hot weather condition for long.
The F-22 is supposedly fundamentally different from the B-2 bomber which was notorious for its downtime in that it was designed to be more resilient.Originally posted by coolant:DonÂ’t underestimate the maintenance for a stealth fighter. if you say multinational programmes got problems, F-35 is the same also....so your reasoning is kinda bias also.....The F-35's greatest enemy is the US military and its changing requirements like changing underwear. Quite frankly most US programs are flops because of poor management.
The F-22 is supposedly fundamentally different from the B-2 bomber which was notorious for its downtime in that it was designed to be more resilient. The RAM materials being used for stealth planes are all similar, the major differences between old stealth pane and new ones to achieve STEALTH are aerodynamic. Actually B-2Â’s RAM material is also updated when newer, better RAM products available. The weather condition affects mostly the heavy RAM coatings.
Well, during the last Iraqi war, the turn around time for the B-2s didn't appear to have improved, and the F-22 is designed to be a front line fighter. I'm not sure how they are going have a warfighter that spends more time in the hanger than actually fighting out in the front. Not least, some crude strategies can still bring down stealth fighters.Originally posted by coolant:The RAM materials being used for stealth planes are all similar, the major differences between old stealth pane and new ones to achieve STEALTH are aerodynamic. Just imagining a lady with heavy facial dress and under a hot sun and in humid surrounding.
you must know what are the countries are involved, which part of the world and who is the lead ma .... I'm commenting on F15 and eurofighter, not F35...do not beg the questionOriginally posted by duotiga83:if you say multinational programmes got problems, F-35 is the same also....so your reasoning is kinda bias also.....
