China forum bashing Singapore

it is obverse that PRC are moving out in great numbers and they bring along the attribute of patriotism and nationalism towards China. They can be an emotional and irrational bunch. Take a look at the other talk forum. The main point is not so much of high lighting the negative aspect of Singaporean but how to preserve Singaporean identity. After all we are probably 2nd ,or 3rd or maybe 4th generation in Singapore. Chinese Singaporean does not share the common value of that of PRC counterpart.
My concern and I think it is a valid concern is that at what point does the emotional settlement gets into politics and draw salt with Singapore. At what point does the PRC felt that with its size it has all the influence over Singapore. -

How about us in little Singapore?
We feel like we got balls so big that we are the best in the world and we can beat the Malaysians, Indonesians, Thais combined etc etc etc...
This is irrational, too. But hey... this is what pride and nationalism is all about.
All I am saying is that:
while we ourselves are so full of pride and sometimes irrational behaviour when it comes to nationalism, we cannot accept if peoples of other countries behave the same way.
As if only SIngaporeans got the right to be proud and co.cky?

we are proud of our country's achievement and global standing despite our minute size in territory and population vis a vis our neighbour.
we are seen as co.cky in the eyes of others who cannot accept their own failings vis a vis their larger resources.
of course... there is the usual excuse.. our country is so BBBBIIIGGG.. it harder to manage.... which brings to mind.... so too are japan and south korea and more recently china... they are blazing forth so fast.. even our govt is pissing in their pants.... -

Well I think Singapore has reach a certain stage in the development that at some point the society will needs to find its own identity. After all we said our pleages from primary school thru secondary school, vocation, serve NS, slaved in work, worried about housing, cost of living, Screw PAP. Hey !!!That is what we do. We have foreigner who come in from different background and judge the people without go thru the above experiences.
with China it is typically sensititive because there are money that pour into china from Singapore Tax payer money. There are free riders that make use of what singapore which uses its reputation with US and its system and leap frog into other nation at the expense of Singaporean good will and tax payer money.
Of course being a city state, Singapore has to i believe swallow a "Tough Pill". China is big that goes without saying, But i think it play by its own Rule. Unlike Singapore, it succeed thru having a Fair playing field in the international business environment, and succeed in a fair economic environment.
So yeah gov is pissing in their own pants. -

It will take newly immigrant at least 2 generation to assumilate, as such even the 1st generation immigrant that eventually settledown in Singapore will not be able to embrace 100% of the city state, cause of historical reference are so different.
In a way the influx of newly chinese immigrant is an awakening for singaporean to realized the different beyond skin deep and race. Same race, but think differently. Adjustment will have to be made for both, I think the women who choose to stay on and settledown like married tend not to move beyond Singapore. Men who are more ambition maynot stay on. The following generation will take roots.
while at the mean time, adjustment period r always not easy. -
