2 Singaporeans killed in fighter crash in Taiwan

I feel really sad over this incident. The 2 killed are NSF?
Going to Taiwan alive and back to Singapore dead. just make pple feel so heartache. I wonder how their parents/relatives can take such a terrible news. -
The two servicemen who died in the incident have been identified as 19-year-old Corporal (CPL) Isz Sazli Bin Sapari and 23-year-old Private (PTE) Fan Yao Jin.

TAIPEI, Taiwan (AP) -- Two Singaporean soldiers were killed in a Taiwanese fighter jet crash on Friday during a training flight, and two others from the city-state were injured, Taiwan's defense minister said.
Defense Minister Lee Jye said the Singaporeans were among a group of soldiers sent by the city-state to Taiwan for training.
The F5F jet crash also killed the two Taiwanese pilots at Hukou Air Base in northern Taiwan.

The pilots were trying to steer their craft away from populated areas.

i guess with this incident Singapore officially declared its training camp in ROC. It was reported in Washington Post, and Taiwan main stream paper.
I saw an interesting article publish from Yahoo Taiwan. read it. it even go all the way to mention ROC thru its relationship with Sg has gain european weapon, and send taiwan C130 pilot to singapore for training. I wonder how true is the info. -

what was interesting picture that I saw in CNA.com was that the medic that was shown in the picture was still wearing the SAF number 4. it make u wonder even more if SAF was involved. when I was station in starlight we have to wear the ROC green so sometime visiting troops may still wear #4. -

saf's training in taiwan has always been in e noe... esp 4 guys who been thru ns... n we noe dat we not involved in any of e taiwanese exercise... well at least i noe we dun in my era... so i tink since e topic is on e demise of 2 of our country's servicemen, two parent's son, we shld b instead watchful on how mindef n saf deals wif tis matter...
i can do nothing but send my deepest condolences to e family of e deceased... they died in our country's colours... -

From what Master said in the other thread, Hukou Base is forested, with a circling of shops and houses on the perimeter.. -

The pilots don't know how to attack, just scramble her jets to the target............ or are they trained for kamikaze...........
Hey dipshit !! A few hundred metres from my home is a country which is world renowned for crashing planes from an airforce that is more likely to shoot itself in its foot than anything else just by the crash records. And for the record, that was a Taiwanese F-5 piloted by Taiwanese pilots. -

The 3 sinic nations of china, taiwan and singapore know very well about this. the world knows about this. It is even officially acknowledged by the Singapore government. You mentioned `base'. It could be leased facilities as well.
But with this incident...others know of the official Singapore base over there...Hmmz.. Wonder how MINDEF will take up this issue. -

his unit men will carry him off the plane that brings him back. being airforce there might be a "missing man" formation fly over.
