Do you feel that we are a very flexible force? Always able to react to a ever changing battle situation?Originally posted by Herzog_Zwei:All about the acting and not enough brains...
Why? You think you know something we don't?Originally posted by allentyb:
do you think anyone will tell you any classified information in a public forum?
Though "mighty" is an intentional exaggeration on my part, it is not that far from the truth when you consider it in the context of our immediate vicinity.Originally posted by tankfanatic:not mighty SAF lei.. thats too much. US armed forces you can say mighty, but not SAF.
if i were you i would say .... the well trained and better equip SAF.
i say if there are any weakness its the NS.
When I was in the infantry, I always felt we were very clumsy as a unit. Or is this true of most armies? I have never trained with other armiesthey all have the same feeling. heck thats why the sergeant keep pushing everyone to the edge of their insanity..... but when theres war the training didnt actually kick in automatically. You will ses symptoms like nausea, vomiting or blank staring after the baptism of fire. It is said that those symptom are normal and only small percentage of soldier cant recover at all and goes sect 8.

Straight to the point.
The men. Us.
It's one thing when it's ICT, it's another when real rounds start flying, people start dying, burning, screaming and leaking blood.
That's the weakness. The tools and machinery can never fail.
Only hearts and minds.

Do you think a better word would be "over-confident"?Originally posted by snowfox_my:For me. Greatest Weakness in SAF will be [b]Complacency.

After awhile, Over confidence in the system/equipment arise, and Tactic sense goes out of the window. (A country experienced such situation in a 2006 conflict, they had the best Airforce in the region, One of the Best Armour, Top Notch Navy, but fail to achieve the Mission they set out to do.)
I live overseas, please tell me what did the government sign?Originally posted by Dr Who:Does the mighty SAF have any weaknesses?
yes- uninspired leadership in all spheres- just because they threatened us with SAND, our leaders collapse and quickly sign a document giving away our sovereignity. With this attitude, there is no need to wayang with the SAF. People can see you've got no balls to fight, whatever hardware you possess. Pui....
Can you hear them laughing at our leaders and the SAF?

Ever wonder why there are service centers for Cars/Computers.

Yeah, that's a real shame. Shows that the son is not like the father.Originally posted by Dr Who:moca wrote - I live overseas, please tell me what did the government sign?
They signed the Extradition treaty........something the govt had resisted for years till Indonesia banned sand exports to Singapore......
Overnight the govt changed position, and capitualted.........talk about standing up for Singapore.......don't believe them......pui......
Pay them in kinds of better money than their existing pay package lor... They will turn mercenaries...Originally posted by moca:As much as every other red-blooded SIngaporean, I think very highly of SAF.
But let's put pride aside for a moment and examine what are our weaknesses?
It could be equipment, tactics, morale, racial integration, battle experience, guile etc... Or even our attitude - which can often win or lose a war.
