Turkey selects the A129 Mangusta

  After a seven year ordeal, Turkey decided on A129. Up to 52 of them will be purchased and built in Turkey, at a cost of $3Billion.
  
  
  
  American Apache was eliminated earlier since they wouldn't want production in Turkey. And the Rooivalk of Denel, S.Africa, partly due to use of French made engines as turkey had a boycott on french stuff...

  Finally, the Mangusta wins a first customer after 20 years! Arms sales can really be slow moving..

  no pics.. they selected it i think because they really had no choice...
  
  the apache will nvr be produced in turkey..
  
  the south african heli had a french engine.. so they were really in a sense left with the A129...

  yea, but i guess its a way to improve on their homemade defence tech too..

  Examples are our Singaporean Terrex and i think the FH2000.
