The new DSAR submarine rescue vehicle (for Singapore)is from the same family of designs as the vehicle contracted in November 2006 to the Republic of Korea Navy (ROKN) and the existing vehicle operated by JFD as part of the United Kingdom Submarine Rescue---http://miranda.hemscott.com/servlet/HsPublic?context=ir.access&ir_option=RNS_NEWS&item=40460739428300&ir_client_id=915
System (UKSRS).
Air Transportable free swimming Rescue Submersible
VEHICLE DIMENSIONS
:Length..9.8m
Width ...3m
Height without mating skirt..2.75m
Height including mating skirt and 15 degree wedge..3.5m
Weight with mating skirt and 15 degree wedge..21.3 tonnes
OPERATING PARAMETERS
:
The following operating parameters are relevant to LR5s role in the event of a DISSUB
Maximum Operating Depth
:400m
Rescuee Capability
:At internal pressure up to 5bar LR5s cram capacity is 16 rescuees. Nominally, the payload is stated at 680kg. Additional buoyancy can be carried externally to augment payload
Endurance
:
Endurance dependent on operating conditions range 6-10 hoursCharging time 8 hour maximum
Life Support
:Endurance 96 man hours CO2 absorption material and oxygen
Speed
:
Maximum 2 knots
Weather/Sea Conditions
: On a suitable support vessel, LR5 can operate up to Sea State 6 and/or wind force 7, in less suitable vessels of Opportunity the operating limits could be reduced to Sea State 4 or less. Surface visibility is not to be less than one nautical mile
Tide/Current
:
LR5s maximum speed of 2 knots limits to operations of 1.5 knots bottom current. When mating with a DISSUB this reduces to 1 knot
Mating Angle
:
Mating can be achieved at up to 10 degree heel on LR5 or at up to 60 degree bow up. To assist with mating at angles a 15 degree skirt wedge is available
Operating Crew
The normal operating crew supporting LR5 on a 24 hour basis consists of eight qualified personnel. The submersible crew normally consists of one pilot and one Rescue Chamber operator
Auxiliary Equipment
The auxiliary equipment to support LR5 rescue operations is fully contained in 2 standard and 1 half height container, containing HP air and oxygen charging and workshop facilities

But the problem is will they remember what we have done for them? I mean just look at the Tsunami relief effort, we Singapore as a nation and her people donated lots of money, supplies and help with our military to Indonesia and Thailand. But look at how we are being treated now? We paid for the shares in Shin Corp and we paid for the sand from Indonesia, its not like we are robbing them!
