  I'm thinking of building up a solid collection of reference books related to military history and the Second World War in particular. Does anybody know a place where I can get these kind of books cheap? Hopefully within a student's budget.

  the one inside SAFTI is very good and open to public.

  Yes u can walk or drive inside SAFTI....
  
  or u can order it from NLB and get from any NLB library....
