Y SG armour dun use 50 cal?

As mentioned in the title , y is our armour unlike those of the Russians, Americans who fits 12.7mm gun onto their tanks as AA weapons and other MG purpose? while we, germans and brits uses the 7.62mm GPMG?

The russian 12.7mms are the equivalent of the .50cals.

I've asked this question here before, but never got any useful answers.
Some even insists that the AMX-13 had no room for a .50 to be mounted. I refuted this wild guess by posting a pic of a foreign AMX-13 with a turret roof-mounted .50 - with room to spare.
We may call the AMX-13 a light tank but when you actually climb onto it, you realise how big it is externally.
The only satisfactory answer I got from one post was that the AMX-13 never operate alone, and will always be supported by other IFV like Bionix or Ultra. And these support vehicles will have plenty of CIS 50, 25mm cannons, SAMs etc. What the AMX-13 3-man crew should concentrate on is using its 75mm gun on targets that require this firepower.
Still, I am pro putting the CIS 50 on tanks. There is already a GPMG mounted co-axial to the 75mm. Unless the reason is that there are no more room to store enough ammo for the .50.
Most of the time the stated purpose of the .50 on the turret roof is air defense. This is when SHTF and you're alone, you have something to shoot at enemy helicopters. Or if you're out of 75mm ammo and you see a enemy IFV...The CIS 50 can fire Saboted Light Armour Piercing rounds which would be useful against lighter vehicles.
But this is all moot as we are now getting Leo 2s. So it will be interesting to see if there will be a CIS 50 on the Leo turret roof. -

Seriously, canister rounds and GPMG are both anti-personnel.
I was talking about having an additional weapon for taking out fast moving lighter vehicles without having to waste one 75mm round. Your AMX turret may not be able to turn fast enough to hit a fast-moving target. Or a limited last-ditch air defense capability. -
canister is soft skin and anti light helis as well. Regular enough.

A little OT. I notice the Bronco with SRAMS (watever its called) and Primus are armed with 7.62mm MG. Was wondering how useful that is against enemy armour. No doubt the Bronco will never travel alone & the Primus will not go charging into battle against enemy armour, BUT what if an enemy IFV (don't even talk about MBT) was to come across a Bronco or Primus. Isn't the 7.62 round practically useless?
Is there a reason a higher calibre gun isn't used instead? Like the CIS 50 MG. Surely it doesn't take up that much more space. Its not as if we're talking about a 30mm Bushmaster cannon. -

However, the US and IDF never leave home without the M2 Browning. -

Hence why the bronco is never alone. It's suppose to be behind friendly forces or with AI coy. Any indication of intrusion they will smoke and zoom off. For primus. it's just like an old atg. 155mm round without charges allows it to fire in straight position anyway. 155mm enough to punch a REALLY big hole in any ifv.
by the way .50 how to punch a hole in an ifv? 40 can if you fire like erm like 30 rounds. -
if i put on the m113, all the new chiao will complain heavy..knn..

our CIS .50 is 20mm longer than the US M2
but 30kg with tripod compared to 58 of the M2

well, since its like 20kg lighter than the M2 , weight shldnt be the problem why the .50 wasn't used on our armour, could the 20mm be a cause?

Explained already. 7.62mm lighter, easier to clean, AP and AA role. Anything 7.62 cannot handle. Canister round. If cannot, HEAT. If cannot, APFSDS.
You can carry 10 boxes of 7.62mm rounds for AP suppression. You cant do that with 0.5inch, you cant even carry half as much.
Overheating + barrel change. It's always easier to change the dismountable(with bipod) GPMG barrel. You can change that in 5 secs. It will also cool down faster. Spare barrel takes up less space (consider the length of the 0.5 inch barrel) put that in/out a tank from commander hatch, very tedious.
You need two person to mount the 0.5inch on the vehicle vs 1 person for 7.62.
You need only the ammo box for the 7.62mm. you need a belt holder for the 0.5inch. If vehicle is disabled, you can dismount and use the GPMG and carry 1-2 boxes for defense. Try that with the 0.5inch.
Just because it's bigger doesnt mean it's always better. Stats looks good on paper doesnt mean it's great in real life.

AMX-13 75mm gun also got APFSDS, HEAT etc etc wah...
So why buy Leo 2 with 120mm tua leng gong?
75mm can carry more ammo right or not...?
Leo 2 need 4 people but AMX-13 need 3 people only. Can save on ku li kang.
Small tank can go faster some more parking less ploblem.
