Digital Camo?

ditto if this is just a fad or what , but IMHO, SAF could use some digital camo as a force multiplier .
Current cuntries that use Digital camo :
Canada: CADPAT.TW CADPAT.AR
USA: ACU , MARPAT
Kingdom of Jordan: KAII
Finland: ARMY

Digital camo is certainly the way to go...
And yes, it's a matter of time before we use it... I think the SAF have been messing around with it for some time now, if my sources are right. -
HIGH TIME to change our uniform!!!!
Apart from our SOP helmet camo net, we look just like the Malaysians from a distance or low light condition.
This cannot continue. If it comes to war, the friendly fire scenario will be a nightmare!!
Digital camo is definitely the way to go. -
when that happens, maybe malaysia might be looking at changing to digital camo too

A total uniform change.
already annouced and in the emart is a kahki army shirt that replaces the grey admin wear.This however will be official uniform so it can be worn under the number 4 top and can also be won on it's on without the RSM giving u a scolding.

can you give a clearer definition of the uniform? as in a total overhaul of both shirts and pants or just a khaki shirt? -

btw, what kind of uniforms are we changing to? i like the current one the way it is...
to elaborate, they recently introduced a new army brown t shirt to replace the grey one. and this new shirt can be worn as inner shirt beneath no. 4 except under certain conditions (e.g. route march) which pose higher risk of heat injuries. apparently this new shirt is made of better and lighter material so can be worn under the no. 4
think we are really going the way of the US army... -

yes, it just replaces your admin wear. i think grey looks too "jaily" for them.

The old temasek green uniforms had arms/formation badge. We scrapped those badges & now they are back.
The old PT kit had green T-shirt. We scrapped that & now khaki is back.

Anyway, a friend in log side over at HD 2 PDF tells me there are gonna shift the ranks for Specs & below to the collar soon a la US style. That's why the arms badge is on right collar & nothing on left collar. Interesting to see how they're gonna squeeze a MSG rank into that tiny space. -

This ACU has the rank on the chest.
If you look at the guy on the right, his collar rank is small. And if we are going to do this, our MSG rank will be quite small as well. -
I'm not sure about if it's digital prints or not but i know there's going to be a new uniform loh.How it looks like i duno heh most likely change the layout.As for when they issuing i think it will be closer to the end of this yr. Heh i hope they let us kit exchange i dun fancy spending creds on it.

Very laceh leh... I spent money to sew on the new name tags cuz my uniform is issued with the camo name tag. Spent money on the formation and arms badge.. Nw they are going to change it??? Wah lao eh!!!!!! Ki Tao Hong arh.... But to digress abit... US uniform is realy nice.. I had the chance to see it personally myself... It was like so cool... They pretty smart in it...

The people who make those decision are usually sitting in office and not out in the field experiencing things... -
Its damn stupid to come out with formation badge, arms badge & S'pore tag and a few months later change uniform. Want to change, change all at once mah. Not everyone has a Filipina at home to sew and unsew and sew and unsew all the badges and stuff.
