CIS 40mm Grenade Launcher (CIS 40 GL) -
It's a P90 dude... and the rounds it fire are a lot smaller then 40mm grenades.

Here's your 40mm grenade launcher.
Used by SAF SOF. I assume for the "hush puppy" role - meaning sentry killer. I also assume that this was picked for a number of reasons.
SAF has never believed much in sub-calibre SMG like 9mm or .45 as they are too low velocity, has round nose which lack penetration of body armour etc.
But a 5.56 is probably not quiet enough for the silenced role.
Hence, a PDW calibre of 5.7mm calibre was picked. (Another competing PDW calibre is H&K 4.6mm. Don't know if SAF considered this.) The 5.7mm has lower power than the 5.56 and thus more controllable full-auto. But its bullet is a good armour penetrator.
Singapore has also picked 5.7mm as the kinetic part of the SSW - Section Support Weapon.

AFAIK, only CDOs and SOF uses the P90.

You dun need to take them too seriously, as most of them have no experience in the army at all. All their "military" experience is taken from CS or their summer camps held in PLA camps.
There was once, I seen before this PRC forummer quarreling with other countries forummers, over a pic in which a PLA trooper is seen with finger at the trigger why trekking on a sloped gravel path.
Most of the forummers point out that the guy is putting his mates' life at risk, bu the PRC forummer refuse to believe and he claims this is a PLA 'standard' and this 'standard' is more kilat................LOL!!!LOL!!!LOL!!!!LOL!!! -

Well supression is mainly to protect the hearing of the user... and to make the gunshot sound like anything but a gunshot... as for supression ala. movies... it's hard to achieve without significant modifications to your weapon and ammo.

While silence is important, the operator of the silenced weapon also need something that can also deliver volume in a full-on fight.
If you want just silence why not try a blowpipe? Most agree they're very quiet!!!
