good for prepared positions. do they have stabilised aiming?Originally posted by DarthBart:
With a gun that can go lower, the tank can 'hide' behind a slope of a steeper grade
Nah, I think this is pretty much expected for a "next gen" tank launched in 2007... they were standing on the shoulders of many previous tank designs. While an impressive tank (at least so far)... it is more evolutionary then revolutionary.
I'd say the Koreans are very technologically advanced! [/b]
Firing missiles, even top-attack ones, is nothing new. The Russians have been doing that since the T-64. The Russians have been equipping their tanks with active self-protection systems since the T-80UM. Likely though, they based off their designs off the Russian ones because Russia sold them some tanks some time ago.Originally posted by calvin2224:Looking at all its specifications. 1) Auto-feeder (cut crew down to 3. still very complex to engineer a auto-feeder that's as good as a human loader)
2) Tremendous elevation and depression for the main gun, further aided by the Hydropneumatic Suspension Unit, which can adjust the height of the chassis.
3) Good swimming ability with zero preparation
4) Ability to fire top-attack missiles from the gun barrel- a breakthrough for the Koreans
5) Active self-protection along the lines of Israeli Trophy system
6) Inter-Vehicular Information System which is likely to be similar to our BMS mounted in our armoured vehicles.
I'd say the Koreans are very technologically advanced! This is clearly a technological breakthrough for the Korean arms industry.
I must have missed something. Whats this Russian missile that shoots out of a T-64 gun AND has a top attack profile?Originally posted by Fingolfin_Noldor:Firing missiles, even top-attack ones, is nothing new. People who play Halo should be familiar with this.Originally posted by DarthBart:

The top attack missile is believe to be LAHAT missile. as for the APS , is a derivative of Russian Arena E.Originally posted by calvin2224:Looking at all its specifications. It looks to be a very formidable tank, something every tank builder has been trying to achieve!

I mistyped. The Russian missiles don't do that sort of thing, though the Israeli equivalent might.Originally posted by Shotgun:I must have missed something. Whats this Russian missile that shoots out of a T-64 gun AND has a top attack profile?
