In December 2005 AgustaWestland started delivering A109 LOH helicopters to the Malaysian Army and deliveries will continue through 2006. The primary purpose of the LOH is to serve as a cost efficient system for observation, reconnaissance, tactical transport and area suppression missions. The Malaysian Army Aviation is the first operator of the A109 LOH in Asia....

But hey, it's not secret that there's an arms race of sorts between us... but it's not really of the overtly hostile kind. More like we are trying to maintain a form of parity that will keep the military card more or less the way it was. A true arms race will be marked by a lot more significant spending.
