I have doubts in the military govt's capability to manage this diplomatic "exchange." While it was fair for them to protest the sale of ShinCorp to Temasek holdings, the spying charge seemed more like a provocation to probe a reaction from us. They gave not details to any investigations and the evidence they surfaced. There was simply nothing but provocative words.
They're appointing another Gen Saprang, an anti-Thaksin hardliner to be the head of Telecoms of Thailand. If indeed this is the beginning of a series of such appointments to key positions, then it would seem to me that the military govt would be staying for quite some time.
