New SIG rifle

HI Guys!
New year and a New rifle from SIG! its an American Version of the SIG 550 series call the SIG 556 ! it uses M16 magazine! using the SIG 550 series! ,, lots of PIcatinny to put your ninja stuff and the AR type collapsable stock for adjustment for differnt people and also with and without webbing. A great product! Can;t wait to get my hands on one of these..
Retail at $1300!

BEauty is in the eye of beholder ! Initiually I thought the AR collapsable stock looks ugly! but after running a few drills with my webbing on! I wish I had a collapsable stock like my M4.! So! here it is. a Swiss watch type rifle with accuracy that puts AK to Shame! the fit and finish of the SIG550! takes cheap M16 mags! ... much more reliable than any AR out there. much more robust and strongger than the AUG! and best of all! price is right!
Not the prettiest gun in the block! but man! this gun will smoke!

ARGH!!! You got me so wanting to hammer you in utter envy Dave! Haha...thanks for sharing your pieces anyway. I think it will look more fierce after you slap on a red-dot sight and tac.light. Woot!

How come there are selector switches on both sides of the rifle? and where is the aiming recticle?

Both sides because ambidextrous.
You mean sight/scope and not reticles. You will have to mount the sight/scope on the P Rail - add USD 500 for that. -
Is the ''round thing'' on top of the nozzel a touch light or laser pointer ??

I am referring to sights, not scope. Most firearms come with its own built in sights... Shouldn't be too expensive, just a foresight tip and rear sight aperture. Even the British WW2 expedient Sten gun comes with it..... -

the selector is ambi.. so a lefty and righty can use it ! the ejection of the SIG is always forward and front like an AK! so! the spent cartridge will never hit your face like an M16!
As for the round thing in front , it is a opening for your gas piston and recoil spring to come out! it is like a FAL or L1A1 .
The 1st production SIG556 did not come with backup iron sights!I will put a EOtech or ACOG on this unit and use a backup iron sights like those made by ARMS or GG&G.
THis version is a 16" barrel!and the barrel twist is 1:9 so we can shoot both the SS109 or M193 5.56x45 cartridge!

I bought a China-made red dot aimpoint scope for my airsoft.
It costs me RMB 300. That's like less than USD40!
Does it work?
Well, I'm not sure if the real aimpoint has any magnification as mine doesn't.
But the red dot works. Can be zeroed. I can hit a small target with the first shot every time. If I remove the scope and put it back, it remains zeroed.
I can use it without removing the rear sight. And the red dot sits just above the front sight post. -
the military AImpoint like the ML2 or M2 has no magnification! .
the only difference i find with the airsoft Aimpoint and the real one is that the real one has a very long battery life ! and it has very brighness settings for any situation you need , a Night vision setting and also the optics is much clearer! the dot is also much smaller and more precise!
but I did use a airsoft dot sight on my M16 and it worked ! do not know how well it will take with those punishing recoil!

With the real stuff, the batteries will run longer and the zero will not run off after the first mag. I dont know if the cheap stuf will work after 200 rounds.
