you know...canada is famous for having weapons and stuff that pple used in WW2
and those i know who are there....its cos they will pay for your uni fees... -
they are protected by their bigger brother south of them, i think they see no need to militarise themselves.

Canada does not have any potential enemies and has defence ranked very low in priority. However, its snipers have done extremely well in the recent conflicts in ME and Afganistan.

SAF ads are shot to become macham like action flim like that...very glam & glossy but I feel that ppl join the forces not becos they are attracted by the 'action' - I mean will someone join the force becos they can drive the tank run around (except pilots) ?
Maybe first few times feel shiok but after having to clean the tank not shiok, its shiong.... -
Right, the fun wears out when you realize that army can be pretty boring most of the time - 99 % waiting, cleaning weapons, talk cock , drill , digging & 1 % action.

Well we are looking at the quality of the ads themselves... not how faithfully the ads re-enact life as it is in the armed forces, and in this regard, I feel the SAF ads are better than the Canadian ones.
Agree that the ads glorify military life, though in truth back in my NS days I prefer to clean my rifle rather than doing what the ads show -
You need a special breed of people, with a special kinda brain problem to enjoy military life in its fullness.
