  No need to speculate. It is ndeed true the Soviets copied the Panzerfaust for their RPGs. Just like the StG inspired them to develop the AK47.
  
  But you posted the wrong Panzerfaust link. The Panzerfaust 44 is a new thing from the 60's.
  
  The original WW2 Panzerfaust was a simple tube with a warhead slotted into the front. No pistol grips etc.

  Sorry, I made a mistake, i didn't know the Panzerfaust 44 is a 60's weapon as i miss out the below part from the site.
