Yup , I'm now having to cope with a colleague of mine who still can't get over his NS life as a special unit's soldier who had to go East Timor.
Still required to be recalled , he still is telling me about his soldiering capacities.
Having to bear all that craziness, I still have to drill him to get him on the right track to start planning about how he has to go about his daily work than daydreaming and soldier talk.
And some people think NCC is a problem!

NCC is not that bad, anyway its just a CCA where the sec sch kids go learn something new. But of course there is no need to be arrogant about oneself because if you are good others will know, no need you to show off. Agree? -

instances with NCC cadets...teachers and student cadets alike
1 clt oct....had a tiny cut on his lip cos fall off bed..went to my med ctr in fits...absolute kengness cos his fits were exaggerated...he was like...'arrrrh..pain arh pain arh....arhhhh' trembling and stuff.....i send to neesoon...MO shake head...gez the time....saturday...0340hrs...
1 teacher oct....report sick...ultimate keng sia...reason for reporting sick is to skip orienteering...he say he got diarheoa la....BP normal...stomach has no guarding....and he says he's been having it for days...no dried lips or paleness and weakness...
1 clt cadet....tell me he has been having nausea for 2 days...but never vomitted...i find that hard to believe...he prolly got seasick after canoeing...canoeing oni sia...i cud like sleep peacefully in an assault boat b4 coastal hooking..and this guy...canoe oni...nausea..
sec 1-4 seem to be well behaved...if somewhat 'weak'...may not used to army camps.... -

He's quite lucky to have a colleague who have experience with combat stress and other wierd mental conditions from NS. Others would be rather "curious" and spoil him further into bragging about his 'Special Unit's Secrets'.

What so Good about NCC ?
It's probably a good place whereby they get out of trouble in their spare time and give the teachers a job to take care of them regimentally. More like a scout camp would suit these boys and girls during holidays.
