We won't be able to afford F22s.Originally posted by hiphop2009:how abt f-22? suitable to be used in singapore?

Ultimately you'll never know until you fight a war rite?Originally posted by Shotgun:Since we have really fought a war, and we donno what the heartware of the NSF and regulars in RSAF is like. I dunno which is scarier. Their lack of faith in themselves, or the naive logic that if war breaks out the US or UN will come save them.Originally posted by spartan6:I say SAF ONLY weakness is e fact tat youngsters nowaday have no faith in defending Singapore & r only 2 quick 2 comment how small we r bah bah etc
But sgf, do u noe that SG has one of the highest lightning percentage in the world? The Cat1 thingy is not for show, bcos in the past ppl are struck by lightning and are killed as a consequence.Originally posted by sgf:I dunno which is scarier. Blame it on the softening of training these days. In my time, we trained even when it rained. I still recall "swimming" through my BIC during BMT. These days, grey clouds appear & all run for shelter. No wonder these youngsters start to doubt themselves. I mean how can soldiers who run at the sight of rain, possibly defend the country?
When things got tough for us, we grit our teeth, swore like sailors and perservered. These days, when the going gets tough, the little boys start whining. Sigh!! Just look at the NS threads in some local forums. My PC give me extra duty lah. My PS called me idiot lah. Whine whine whine!
out in the open yes, but that 2LT was standing under one lone tree in the open when it start to rain. it can't just kill one and no one else get hurt when lightning strike. integrity? leadership? too bad he got his day.Originally posted by equlus84:But sgf, do u noe that SG has one of the highest lightning percentage in the world? Last time 3rd GDS 8th mono if i am not wrong, my sgt who was a man during that era claims that an officer was killed by lightning when they were training out in the open. Thus the exercise halt during cat 1 is not bcos our ppl are soft.
Besides, if the training is in marsiling, which is highly vegetated, most prob the ex will go on
He was one of the few malay 2LT that was selected to enter the GDS unit. He was back to check if there are anyone else on the defense location, when he was struck. The path was through the antenna of the 7 series signal set - body - and ground through his right leg. Not related to any lone tree.Originally posted by Joshua1975:out in the open yes, but that 2LT was standing under one lone tree in the open when it start to rain. it can't just kill one and no one else get hurt when lightning strike. integrity? leadership? too bad he got his day.
