I agree, we are a "deterrent" force, there is advantage in advertising your capability...Originally posted by tankee1981:I am sure our intelligence services monitor this website. But as long as we don't say anything deemed too sensitive, it should be alright.
Now looking it from another perspective, having us speculating our capabilities online may not be a bad thing. One MSD officier once said that although the book Defending the Lion City did contained some very sensitive details, it also serves the purpose of boosting our national pride and intimidating our potential enemies without the political mayhem as its a book by a foreign academic, Dr Tim Huxley. Its not an official document from Mindef so no one can verify the details. This is in response to a question ask by a 1WO during a talk by MSD.

Even the most democratic of nations need to keep some secrets. Loose lips sink big ships.Originally posted by Shotgun:Don't even mention our squadrons of VF-1J Valkryie fighters launching from our submarine carriers. MSD will rip u to shreds!
Everytime a topic like this pops up, makes me wonder if I'm living in a democratic Singapore or a Fascist Germany.
