It would definitely be the most interesting to see Leo2 being deployed in Taiwan and in Oz Shoalwater Bay for training. I wonder if SAF has also as part of the package, acquired some Leo2 armoured recovery vehicles.
I am also wondering if the Tempest will have the same fate as some of the SM1, ending up in a furnace or would be remoulded and reborn as some engineering vehicles or some heavy armoured APC. -
I think Ozzy gerl mistook the Leo1 in the ADF for Leo2........

There are unconfirmed news from articles seen in other forums speaking of 46SAR or 42SAR will be sent to Germany to be the first batch of Leo2A4 operators. My guess is 42SAR as they are always the first unit to try new vehicles such as the BX1, BX2 and Bronco.

I may be wrong, but I thought this "female spec managed to bagged 4 kills when ambushed by Iraqi insurgents" happened only in the western media. In real life, she was..... knocked unconscious when her humvee crashed during the ambush. Iraqi insurgents did not kill her as she was out cold, so they took her away.

The US does employ female combatants in combat in Iraq, why should you be surprised they bag some kills?

You appear to be mixing up Pvt. Jessica Lynch with some .Sgt. Leigh Ann Hester of the 617th Military Police Company.
You should read the AAR of her units' actions that was leaked to a military forum. Anyway this is like the ultimate anti Pvt. Jessica Lynch, a gruff lady that looks more like one of the grunts then anything else, and certainly not somebody you want on the other side shooting 5.56 and 40mm grenades at you.
Her unit rushed in to relieve a convoy which was under ambush, she got out, choinged their position and sprayed them with fire along with her fellow soldiers. When she ran out of ammo she returned to the hummers to pick more up and returned to the fight. At the end of the day she had cleared several enemy positions and had at least four kills to her credit.
And when you have some time, do read about this British Pte. Michelle Norris, a small 5 foot soldier who dragged her injured Sgt. out of harm's way while under fire, taking a bullet in her rucksack in the process.

I've always liked army stuff since i was little,we used to live near to an army base in northern queensland.everyday the black hawks flew over our house,and i would always run outside to see the army men waving to us!it was the best thing ever to a 5 year old! i have family in the army,and friends,and a few times even considered joining myself.i am not here to chat guys up however.sorry.but if you would like to be friends,you can pm me. 
oh yeah....dont underestimate women.....theres a lot of things men can do that women can do much better.....female soldiers are a priorety to the Australian Army.

I would prefer women to pack my parachutes if I had the choice... and indeed in the SAF most, if not all of the chute packers are female. Girls just pack stuff better then guys in general, and a chute is a good thing to pack well.
My sectcom in SISPEC was a female instructor as well, and she wasn't any less capable with keeping up with the guys... only problem was that some of the trainees tried to get fresh with her. But I think she handled it pretty well. -

I know quite a few of my female friends that signed on with SAF already. And they were quite enthu about military stuff as well. I'm not sure if they'll become some garang siao charbors who'll charge down enemy positions with an M4 and M203, and win medals tho. I just hope they do their job right and keep S'pore safe. -

The turret cover will break off if ammo is hit to release the explosion.
Also,the tank can swim water of 4 m depth after 15 mins preparation.

The turrets blow open in even to of a hit its not exactly a safety measure. In cases where the tank or armored vehicle is hit, and explosions occur internally(nasty nasty after armor effects), the pressure build up would find the weakest point to escape. Hatches would be one of those weak areas that would blow first. If pressure build up is so great that the popping hatches don't help, the whole turret might fly. Thats not a safety measure either.

I read from another forum that the troops riding in APCs in Iraq typically keep the hatches open slightly. So that if they were hit, the shockwave gets vented instead of trapped.
