And when have you had anything to do with the ADF?I grew up around all this,I have a brother and a cousin in the ADF....aswell as a few friends who are Officers, and they are the ones that told me they use Leo2's at Laverick and Kapooka.Originally posted by glock:ADF do not have Leo2s . They had Leo1s & have just taken delivery of refurbished M1A1s.
Please educate us, for we are sadly ignorant. We would like to see your Leo2s... could you kindly provide a link to any website or photographic evidence (from open source please) of the Aussie Leo2s.Originally posted by ozzy_gurl:And when have you had anything to do with the ADF?I grew up around all this,I have a brother and a cousin in the ADF....aswell as a few friends who are Officers, and they are the ones that told me they use Leo2's at Laverick and Kapooka.
It's time for us to test all our new toys together. Most likely SPH and MBTs and BX2 and all that other stuff.Originally posted by ozzy_gurl:Australian Defence Force(ADF) ARE using the Leo2's.....they train with them in two of our training grounds,Laverick Barracks in Townsville,Queensland, and Kapooka Recruitment and Training Barracks in Wagga Wagga,New South Wales.
They are also transported to, and used in training at Shoalwater Bay Training Area,on ADF exercises.
As for what will happen to the SAF's unused tanks, there is already talk at work that they are to be sent here for Exercise Wallaby 07.Which may I add,is going to be the biggest exercise ever, seeing as an Urban Warfare Cantre is in the process of being built, aswell as major upgrades, such as Camp Growl being extended to be 3 times the size of Sam Hill.
We already have possession of a number of tanks and other vehicles year round,in between exercises, they are stored at our work base by the SAF.
well maybe so,i dont know.i was told by a friend of mine who is a captain in the ADF.....ive been looking for photos from the ADF sites, but i cnat find any of ANY vehicles...not even helicopters....there seems to be some sort of secrecy rule or something....Originally posted by calvin2224:can we conclude those leo2's spotted in Australia are really ours that were bought long ago and only made public recently.
Huh?Originally posted by ozzy_gurl:well maybe so,i dont know.i was told by a friend of mine who is a captain in the ADF.....ive been looking for photos from the ADF sites, but i cnat find any of ANY vehicles...not even helicopters....there seems to be some sort of secrecy rule or something....
If you would or read my posts properly you would know that I have not seen them with my own eyes,I was told about them by friends of mine in the ADF,including officers. If a major officer in the ADF tells me their are Leo2's,and they use them in training regularly,I believe him.He should know better than all of us.And from what I can guess so far,I'm starting to think they must be secret,as I can not find any pictures of them,or many other ARMY vehicles.Originally posted by glock:I have been to Australia many times & I did not see any Leo2s. Must be best kept secret ; or maybe Leo1s dressed up as Leo2s.
I am also sadly ignorant ; please provide pictures of Leo2s in ADF ; unless they are secret of course. So your saw these Leo2s with your own eyes right ?
what would the tanks be needed there for?target practice?Originally posted by ozzy_gurl:Australian Defence Force(ADF) ARE using the Leo2's.....they train with them in two of our training grounds,Laverick Barracks in Townsville,Queensland, and Kapooka Recruitment and Training Barracks in Wagga Wagga,New South Wales.

No laddie, your credibility is very much at stake here ... on 2 counts too.Originally posted by ozzy_gurl:My credibility is no worry to me,as I am not the one that told myself about the Leo2's
Those are very strong words from you proclaiming that you know better (for the reasons you claim above).Originally posted by Glock:

You bet he should know better than all of us ... What he should know better is not to discuss classified matters with uncleared personnel or civilians ... whichever category you fall into.Originally posted by ozzy_gurl:I was told about them by friends of mine in the ADF,including officers.

I couldn't care less too if they have or do not have Leo 2s ...Originally posted by glock:Give the Aussie a break.
They have been very generous to the SAF by allowing us to use their airspace and armor training grounds.
We only wish our other friends can be as generous - we really wud like more jungle areas for training. How about Central America ?
Anyway the Aussies have M1A1s and its good to have friends who are well armed. Who cares now if they have Leo2s or not.
