Can you imagine seeing a Leo2 doing a drift with the song from Tokyo Drift in the background? Now... thats 3G Army, my man!Originally posted by LazerLordz:"This is Johnny, Welcome to Zhng My Tank!"
I'd prefer the hokkien drift version, with the tankee CSM singing in the turret.Originally posted by tankee1981:Can you imagine seeing a Leo2 doing a drift with the song from Tokyo Drift in the background? Now... thats 3G Army, my man!

If Singapore's survival depended on 66 tanks, then we're doomed.Originally posted by spartan6:At first i find him funny but now .This is a very serious thing, it affects e very survial of Singapore as a nation it is not something 2 joke about

Hey, survival of Singapore? Even the officers admit we can survive only 3 days. So let's not bother about a determined invasion shall we?
Never heard of this joke mah.Originally posted by laurence82:coz vehicles in camps in north area will go to 6DSMB for base maintenance mah
Wat u meant by 'thrown' into the sea? And I had seen one rusty SM1 in Seletar camp donkey years back.Originally posted by Shotgun:Seriously speaking, 300-350 SM-1s is just a paper strength. Mindef would not disclose how many of them are already beyond repair, and how many have been "thrown" into to the sea already. I doubt foreign intelligence sources such as JDW etc would be able to estimate as well.
I say this cos I've seen quite a "few" rusting AMX-13/SM-1 derelict hulls before.
Throw into the sea is such a waste, they can be used as targets, gate guardians, muesuem exhibits, donate to Philippines/Indonesia(some of their AMX-13 is upgraded by us to SM1 standard), perhaps even as scrap metal. Throwing into the sea maybe can just act as artificial breakwater and for the start of a coral colony.Originally posted by Manager433:Wat u meant by 'thrown' into the sea? If we give away for free, they will not be valued by the receivers.Originally posted by tankee1981:Throw into the sea is such a waste, they can be used as targets, gate guardians, muesuem exhibits, donate to Philippines/Indonesia(some of their AMX-13 is upgraded by us to SM1 standard), perhaps even as scrap metal. My own personal view... No offence here...Originally posted by LazerLordz:What's wrong with him? I take offence at that statement.
Satire is an art not many people can understand though. But, you don't go around condemning people for their views do you?
He's much more of a Singaporean than I can say about the govt anyday..
Totally understand where you're coming from. You do bring up valid points of concern.Originally posted by ^Delta^:My own personal view... No offence here...
The way he comments about MINDEF's latest purchase makes it seem that our people in charge of procurement are people who go for cheap, lousy deals. He has effectively cheapened the whole procurement process and given the number of people who visit the blog daily, the readers themselves, both local and foreign will have a lower opinion of the SAF, if they don't already have.
I remember reading his post about the RSAF's purchase of the F-15SG. He obviously does not even have the knowlege that the new warplane we are getting are brand new machines, not second hand, generations ahead of the original eagle. We must keep in mind that many people outside are not really enthusiastic in military developments or technology as us and will take whatever he posts on his blog as true. He is one of the more famous online personalities in Singapore and his words do have an impact on the selective memories of our youth, who would easily remember what he says on his blog rather than what is reported on the newspapers.
A sense of humour in Singapore is to be appreciated certainly. By all means, comment on some of the ugly habits such as littering and lack of courtesy and even make scarcastic jokes about them. I believe that this will edge people to improve on themselves and be reminded that they should not become a joke themselves. However, to make such remarks about our defence procurements is a sign of disrespect to the people who are involved in the decision making process as well as those who train hard on these machines, such that we can have another night of peaceful sleep. It is another thing, both insulting and demeaning to just sit comfortably and try to make fun of these people by making a voice recording that will make us the butt of jokes in an already unstable neighbourhood.
Ok maybe I was harsh on Mr Brown earlier. But I am sure none of us here would ever do something like that.
My own personal view... No offence here...Well i think its "weird" Come on Leopard Tanks... These beasts are designed by the bundeswehr to defeat any other MBT's in the world... Hell No if they're meaning that these beast are not the best... Just bought the tank..You've have not seen the capabilities yet...

No offence but I do think "a sense of humour" shouldn't be something that's regulated, censored or approved by any authorities.Originally posted by ^Delta^:My own personal view... No offence here...
