Talk on MBTs

  Hi,
  Just floating a trial balloon.
  
  Is anyone keen on meeting up late in December, say last Saturday of the month, to listen to a presentation on MBTs?
  
  Venue and time to be confirmed - if there's sufficient interest.
  
  I guess those of you who have attended Milnuts ship visits will realise that such free excursions are, how to say, worth the time.

  What's MBT? I am guessing main battle tank, but it could be any other things.

  In this context,TS is obviously speaking about Main Battle Tank. Besides, I've never heard of any cult with the initials MBT.

  Would love to know more about the way forward for MBT design and its relevance in urban combat...and perhaps learn a bit about designs like the Nagmachon/Nakpadon hybrids...how Merks fare in the face of massed Saggers and Metis-M

  One same thread on two different forums, one side is of gratitude and the other one ridicule about it. I think the organizer deserves some respect for his efforts. David did this out of good will for everyone.

  If you know something we don't, that means you're working for the military, and that means you're breaking the law by talkng about it.
  
  If you're not workng for the military, what do you have to offer that is not already out there in the public domain?

  I think the presentation/discussion will be on the technology aavailable out there. Which is/are in use by the various arm forces, is up them to declare or you to find out.
  
  Why does everyone has to assume we are talking about SAF? If the IEEE Singapore is going to organize a talk on quantum encryption, are they going to be thrown in prison?

  CJ aka David Boey , is the Defence Correspondent of Straits Times.
  
  With his connection as a journalist, he has organised a lot of visting trips to foreign naval ships like a/c carriers, stealth FFGs abd even free tickets to exhibition etc via the new MilNuts forum.
  
  So his efforts here to share with the rest of the member here should be appreciated.

  Singapore Set to Acquire Leopard Tanks from Germany
  
  The Singapore Ministry of Defence and the German Federal Ministry of Defence intend to agree upon the sale of Leopard 2A4 tanks from the German Armed Forces to the Singapore Armed Forces.
  
  The acquisition package will consist of 66 Leopard 2A4 tanks together with 30 spare tanks and supporting equipment. Training on the Leopard tanks will be provided by the German Army.
  
  This acquisition underscores the good defence relationship between Germany and Singapore.
