As I said, I think we are buying "low" for a moment to get a grasp of modern MBT technology. The A4 is a good version to go for that is both useful and educational at the same time. It has a decent protection package, exists in large stocks already (low waiting time), and is cost effective to run for what it offers us.Originally posted by Pitot:yep.
i think we will be upgrading a bunch to the 5 or 6 standard if not all..
MINDEF spokeman already said that they will probably be upgraded, right?Originally posted by Pitot:yep.

Thanks!Originally posted by sane_guy2:120mm is the diameter of the round, and hence also roughly the internal diameter of the Gun barrel. 120mm/L44 means the length of the barrel is 44 times of 120mm = 5280mm.
The 120mm/L55 has a barrel length of 55 X 120mm = 6600mm.
The longer the barrel, the longer the range, because it allows for a longer duration of acceleration in the gun (i.e. force is applied on the projectile for a longer duration).
