United States as a superpower

  History has shown the trend of empires and powers rising and falling as time passes. In your opinion, how long will Pax Americana continue? Its always been my opinion that American hegemony will end via economic problems rather than any military confrontation. With forces simultaneous in Iraq and Afghanistan and with rising nuclear states like Iran and North Korea, I can only imagine the strain it'll put on the US economy. I grant you, the American capitalist system might be able to cope with it better but surely sooner or later public debt will catch up.

  It's like once Britanica rules the sea, but after WW2 the priorty was shifted and they concentrated on domestic policy, trying to build a home "fit for heroes". It is not surprising that USA will follow the same steps, just a question of when.

  Thats only because they busted their economy in two world wars isn't it. 60 years from then and they're still paying the Americans their Lend-Lease debt.

  I think they should adopt a policy of neutrality once more... LOL reshape their economy before starting to poke their noses again.
  
  Like what you said, it will fall not gone completely but fall due to economic reasons such as overspending on unjustified wars.

  I am living in the US right now.
