Singapore airmen may train at Mountain Home

  The USAF is proposing to host airmen from the RSAF at Mountain Home Air Force Base, Idaho for up to 20 years.

  YEah, but the quality of rsaf pilots will still be the same...crap and lousy...can never defend this little red dot...will be wiped out of the skies

  You should read up more about the RSAF before you come to such a conclusion.

  Yup. Lordz is right - a while back some of the RSAF's F5Es left the Red Flag lads a bit embarrassed. I'm not sure, but didn't it happen at Top Gun as well?

  One of the Viper 52+ drivers secured an award of sorts for taking out bogeys that managed to pierce the Yanks' Eagles "quarterback" line.
  
  There was a RSAF pilot who won a best shot award recently at Red Flag.

  yeah, the f16 guy was probrably doing HVU CAP... taking out a leaker that managed to sneak through what they usually call the 'eagle wall'.....
  but i think he was just mentioned for his high awareness during that particular scenario as he helped saved a high value asset.. , no award given...

  I don't see why he'd win an award for doing what he's supposed to do though. Cos he's there to plug leakers in the first place.
  
  I'm more interested in how the leaker got past the Eagles tho. Were they Elmendorf eagles?

  Not sure if the wall was made up of Elmendorf Eagles, hopefully not.

  i was hoping for Seymour Johnson Eagle though ...MO Eagles is kinda famous for their contribution also....

  Eagles or non eagles, given the correct tactics you can actually sneak someone in. Remember, you fight the pilot, as well the platform. The platform merely is a big expensive electronic contraption that delivers weapons of destruction. Pilots can be task saturated also, given that there may bemany targets to choose from. Also, depending on how the pilot operates his radar, he may not be pointing the radar at the right place at the right time.

  Actually I saw some people ranked RSAF as number 9 in the world... may not be accurate but still reflects how others see us.

  9th in the world? It may not be a terrific ranking but it is not too bad. But who's in the top 1st-8th ranks?

  I think it's not too bad. In terms of Asia, we are in the top echelon. The ranking will def. take into account force size, training levels and combat experience?
