...I saw a couple of red barrets welding automatic weponds at Toa payoh bus interchange, normaly I see black barrets petroling, but why so special today? They came in 2 huge Red trucks with POLICE shown big big in the front. Anyone else notice this??

see them around often... in sentosa along palawan beach... girls offered them bottles of water as it was like but they gentlemenly rejected due to security policy.... 1pm in the noon and they were wearing super heat absorbant unis... -

Blue beret is police MRT unit or KINS. Nowadays SOC all switched to red liao. Its normal to have SOC troopers patrolling in various areas. One popular haunt of theirs is Holland V & Orchard Road.

oic, felt weard cuz last time always see the black berrets lol. Heard some of them only use pistols as they are trained soley on pistols is that correct?

Today also got "Ang Chia" come WCP ... On a closer look ... SCDF 'Rescue DOg Tender' Vehicles. So sad, they took thier dogs out for a walk.. 5 mins later ... rain liao

Nah. All cops are trained in more than pistols. Police MRT unit only carry Taurus & T-baton to minimise damage & also casualties since its an enclosed area. SOC carries Taurus & MP5.
