Nowadays, you noticed there's a surge in CISCO and AETOS taking over normal police's work. For example those mass runs or marathons, escorts for commercial heavy vehicles, traffic handling at expo on sundays and so many more. Companies pay to get their service. And our normal police will get to hold their resources for normal policing to the public. Seems fair enough, but...
CISCO and AETOS mission statement is not to the state. But are owned by government linked companies (GLC). Go figure.
Private Military Companies (PMC)? Not likely, cause other state's PMC absorb their state's unwanted military personel, in Singapore, no such such thing as unwanted military personel, all have to serve reservist.Originally posted by madcampus:For our Police, they already branched out to CISCO and AETOS. How about our Army? Does it make sense or cents?

Not mercenaries, but maybe defence contractors that will bid for UN mission. Lowest bidder get the job and sent ex-servicemen to do the job...

They are now fully corporatised into private establishments. AETOS was privatised in 2004 and CISCO in 2005. They don't serve the interest of the nation at large, but their client paymaster.Originally posted by sgf:Well CISCO & AETOS are auxilliary police forces, not security companies after all.
