SAF buys Terrex??

  For what its worth, this Wikipedia entry claims that "As of 2006, the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) has decided to purchase 300 units to replace their ageing V-200 armoured vehicles."

  SAF's V200 are used in roles like air defence and also for transporting PDF troops.

  If SAF buys a new vehicle like this isn't it more likely they will use it in some fancy new role or unit like RDF etc?
  
  BTW, I've never heard of a 6x6 Terrex - only 8x8.

  Wikipedia is not the most credible of sources but i did saw a post of the purchase of Terrex here in sgforums last time, the post is provided by lionnoisy, maybe he can post it here again.

  The Terrex is indeed in SAF inventory. Can't give away too much here, but at the new IGTS (Infantry Gunnery Training Simulator) building, there is a mural made up of various INF weapons and situations, and the Terrex is prominently featured.

  Could it be the SAF is really exploring the possibility of using wheeled armour vehicles as a rapid deployed mechnanisation force? Some wad like a SG version of Terrex brigade or battalion. Btw, we must beware that the SAF is the the main recipient of ST made stuff. I mean ST won't be so stupid to send lots of money to do things that most probably dun have market, even for SAF. Anyway the market now is saturated with 8 wheeled vehicles.
