  Singaporeans are extremely timid, always following the crowd, don't dare to be stick out like a sore thumb. No U-turn sign don't dare to u-turn, stage what coup??

  Ok, why is it that any party that could replace the current party be seen as radical? Isn't there a chance that the suceeding party could be one that is surpassing the current one in every regard?

  Well, lets say all the Elites are in the ruling party already. They've got the best brains to plan out our future. Unfortunately, they don't have much of the heartlanders, and the middle class people among them which some how I feel, leads to the lack of "heart" to understand and care for the people.
  
  The alternative parties have that, but lack the "brains." (in qty of such people i mean.) If the other parties can somehow attract more elites into their cause, I believe that would be able to mount a significant challenge to the ruling party.

  the people who usually have the "brain" will not have the "heart", and people who have the "heart" usually don't have the "brain" - in general context. thus there's a significant disparity among different parties here. for every "brainy" member in a opposition party, there could be 10 like him in the ruling one.
  
  wherever the wind blows, it's natural to attract these "brainy" people to their cause. if you're headhunted by Apple and Shinco, where would you go? the choice is obvious isn't it?

  What about the recently retired "brains" like Kishore Marubeni, Lim Siong Guan and the more than a half dozens permanent secs? I think more of them to come.
  
  Shouldn't they form an opposition party to shadow the cabinet? Build a more resilient "system" for Singapore. A Singapore type of multi party political system. One that's less confrontational perhaps.
