yes. it overshoot the runway some years back. stupid pilot. but never heard the aircraft being back in service. -

Lets hope the RMAF get their act together soon.
They have many problems such as poor safety(many crashes), poor maintenance(Mig-29 in storage),poor planning (too many types of aircraft types with too few in quantity) and corruption(the price which they paid is quite high as compared to the quality and quantity of the stuff bought) -

Seriously, its in our own national interest that Malaysia is safe from foreign military intervention. This is because of our huge investments there. And having their airforce at such a current standard i can't help but worry for them. Afterall, won't it be good to have some healthy competition from our neighbours? This will certainly keep us on our toes. -

The Hawk 200 is a single seat, lightweight multirole combat fighter with emphasis on air defence, air superiority, anti-shipping, air-denial, long range interdiction, short range close air support, strike with smart weapons and a lead-in trainer for aircraft

a fighter jet doesn't need to be supersonic to be one.
there are limitations to the Hawk and its role in the RMAF or TNI-AU reflect those limitations.
ground attack, close support is the game rather than interdiction or air superiority. -
Hawk 100 doesn't have the necessary radar or avionics to enable it for offensive purposes.
so, these 100 series remain as trainers.
not so with the 200 series which are equipped with radar and whatever you may have to give it some teeth. -
Btw, do RMAF have the Sukhoi SU-30 coming on the way?
I think dunno Msia or Indonesia made an order to buy these planes few yrs back....
Btw other than RSAF, which other countries in the SEA region owns F-16 too??

So Indonesia have both the SU-30 and F-16 and Malaysia don't?
That makes the Indonesian Air Force much superior than malaysia's and comparable to our RSAF
