Those photographed shooting at each other obviously do not know the implications, neither were they educated about the NSF who died after a loaded GPMG round shot him in the chest at OCS Company line after the weapon was supposed to have been 'cleared' at the live firing area.
I don't know about you guys, but the sound of the blanks, seem to be superimposed onto the clip, and not from the actual rifle. -

I think we should not be led by the nose by our govt controlled media. The news on ST are some times twisted and sensationalised to make the reading percentage of our papers to increase. From wad I noe, our ATEC opfor is slowly putting in new elements and subjects to test the readiness of our troops in the new age of warfare. For example, some ppls may be tasked to act as looters, some as innocent civilians some may even act as militia during ATEC to test ur response. I strongly believe that the clip has been taken during such ops training and deliberately sensationalise by our media to put the army in the hot spot. During my ATEC, they did simulate a platoon size of civi wearing ppls shouting and rioting at an axis of the road in the 'battle ground' The RP is tasked to block them and prevent entry. Suddenly, they simulate 2 guys taking a ET stick charging at the RP, THUS THE RP SHOT BACK AT THEM, THE SAME WAY AS SEEN ON THE CLIP.
So I strongly believe it is a training........ -

Well, you will never noe, long time ago during a reservist training , the trainer asked the whole platoon to check clear our issued weapons before training on the first day in the field, one of our guys did not really check and one blank fired off when he squeezed the trigger, perhaps there was one blank in the mag that he did not noticed.

For example, in Fallujah, the Americans after toppling Saddam are slowly bogged down, ironically by the civilians. War is not abt soldiers only. Thus they add in distraughted civilians, angry mobs and civilians wondering around scavenging for food! They evn set up tentages to act as mosques or temples to test whether you noe how to handle militias hiding among civilians. Then you had the Abu Ghraib incident, where National Guard MPs had no prior training in prisoner handling and non-combat pacification operations.
ATEC is the best testbed for introducing unconventional non-combat scenarios which involve semi-police work like crowd control and quelling unrest. -

Sometimes, they believe in their spin and bullcrap until they forget what the basic foundation of journalism is, which is to report first and foremost. Anything else, is not obligatory.
If you cannot even respect the tenet of accurate reportage, and beat your own chest when foreign publications interview politicians from other parties, and simultaneously "encourage" one-sided press coverage from the 140th media, what then is partisan press coverage?

If it was indeed an ATEC ex or OPFOR scenario play... how come both the jokers in the video were in clean fatigues?
It looks to me like two idiots + one cameraman who do not have the maturity to understand that screwing around with weapons is asking for trouble.
They are very lucky no one got hurt... or they would be in deep trouble. -
It may not be the actual ATEC but.......... perhaps some dry runs without SBO and helmets. Or it can be a 'NG' part of the filming, some how they did not delete it and it got into the hands of someone who wants to post it on you tube. Battalions may have made this clip as teaching materials for their own ppls to prep them for ATEC thus it need not have come from the ATEC center.

Forums is a different matter. Forums are for people to exchange views and opinions. Some may have dodgy opinions, some may have rock-solid, evident-backed opinions, its up to the forum user to exercise his or her own discretion.
Newspapers should be presenting facts, and perhaps if there is enough evidence to support an opinion, then print an opinion. Otherwise, print different opinions from different people with sufficient expertise on the matter. If the facts are not entirely accurate or presented accurately, how can anyone responsibly print a one sided opinion on the matter? -
