This film contained VC's Boobytrap on the road, in 1969. While ROK troops doing [Winning Dragon Op.14th] in 1969, some of damage trucks lying on the road which was located in front of their fire base. When ROK troops tried to get out that trucks, suddenly VC's Boobytrap exploded. So, many ROK troops were dying instantly and wounded a lot.

God damn... war is hell. I hope I don't have to fight a war in my lifetime - not that I would run away if I have to, but shxt, there's no lgory in being blown apart by a booby trap. You don't even get to fire off one shot at the enemy.
The Australians suffered most of their casualties from booby traps in Vietnam rather than from direct action. (In fact, early in the war most chance of death or injury were from booby traps, accidents or friendly-fire. The Aussies initially did very well at actual combat and inflicted a lot of casualties on the VC and suffering little in return.)
Ironically, most of the explosives are the Australian's own unexploded bombs or Australian mines! The VC would dig up Aussie mines and re-use them to ambush Aussie troops.
I hope Singapore will start to consider this booby-trapping as a important tool. Talk about "force-multiplier". All the computer and high tech stuff cannot beat a good old-fashioned booby-trap. You don't even have to be there to kill and injure a lot of enemies.
Booby traps also seriously affect enemy morale - as it did the Aussies and Americans.
We have to learn how to use booby traps and how NOT to use booby traps. We also got to learn how to avoid booby traps.
Just because we are a conventional army doesn't mean we should ignore this very useful tactic.
I hope the moderator don't move this to the video thread. Would be nice to be able to talk about it here. -

It is not the toe popper but the VC has something they make with a simple round of ammo.
I don't know the detail but it involves putting the round, say a 7.62 x 39, with the bullet pointing up into the ground. When you step on it, the round is detonated either by a spring-released pin or something. And there goes your foot. But a good old punji stake with faeces smeared on the tip for guaranteed infection is still the easiest to make and most effective.
Of course, my all time favourite is the grenade in a tin can trip wire. That's why all GI are supposed to crush their empty c-ration cans and bury it after eating. Otherwise Charlie will make booby traps with them.
The other simple one involve stringing a thin wire at about throat level between 2 trees. When GI drive past in their silly open topped jeep, their heads get sliced off. But the US countered this by attaching a curved bar at the front of their jeeps. But the guys who ride in motor cycles are still defenceless against this. -

Guys, learn this, though the SAF don't teach this to everyone - for obvious reasons.
One foot punji - downward spike makes removal of foot slower.
Mother of all punji pits.
Grenade in a tin can. With safety pin removed, trip wire draws grenade out of can where the handle can fly off, trigerring the grenade.
Grenade under door. Same, put safety pin off grenade into hole under door. GI opens door, grenade activated.
VC toe popper, 12.7mm bullet.
