I am aware that SAF have MANPADS such as the IGLA. But it seems that the IGLA is only being mounted on a launcher on a M113. So my question is whether any SAMs are being deployed with the troops without any form of transport, purely just by hand-carry?

i think they only are attached when ops come.but there lies the problem.
do u think the commanders would be able to use the assets when the time comes. -
In 1999 e RSAF saw e introduction of e salvo launcher unit (SLU) firing platform which allow e simultaneous launch of 2 igla missile. It is nornally mounted on a land rover

What about the Mistral, is it considered a MANPAD? As it can be transported by a 2-3 men packing the missle, base plate and optics equipment?
