South Korea has announced plans to develop an air-launched weapon to disrupt electrical power lines, electricity substations and power-generating plants.
According to an official, this should prove particularly effective in incapacitating underground military facilities favoured by rival North Korea.
The Black Bomb project is aimed at producing an air-launched weapon similar to the US-made BLU-114/B - a submunition payload for the CBU-94/B dispenser weapon that was first used during Operation Allied Force to take out Serbian transformer stations.
