JASDF F-2 Vs RSAF F-16

The Japanese version of the F-16 called F-2 is a special variant. It is diffrent to the F-16 in quite a few ways.
Some differences in the F-2 from the F-16:

-a 25% larger wing area
-composite materials used to reduce overall weight and to reduce radar signature
-longer nose to accommodate a phased-array radar
-larger tailplane
-two-piece cockpit canopy
-capabilities for four ASM-1 or ASM-2 anti-ship missiles, four AAMs, and additional fuel tanks
Japan is a technologically advance nation. The F-2 is also more expensive as compared to the F-16, this may indicate that it have some special features. So if we are to pit our F-16 against theirs, plane to plane, who will have the advantage?

How about Korea and Taiwan etc? Do they operate F-16 and what diff? -
korea operates the same baseline models as ours the F-16C/D block 52, whereas taiwan operates the F-16 A/B block 20, but recently ordered a load of C/D block 52s. However, our Viper Ds have the avionics spine, probably containing some specialized electronic warfare suite, and we also operate the F-16D block 52+, with a better radar, sensors and conformal fuel tanks (and also the abovementioned spine) compared to the regular D block 52 models

I think RSAF Viper-Ds are geared more towards SEAD and precision attack, while JASDF F-2s are more for anti-shipping strike.

Anti-shipping is like attacking an armored mobile sam site without much low alt terrain to mask the attacking aircraft. I'm sure Japanese have some very specialised EW gear on the F-2 to allow it to play such a role. To carry ASMs, the wing needs to relatively strong also.

F2 is a big White elephant, have Japs figured out the F2 RadarÂ’s short sighting of only 40kms? have they solved the frame problems that when in full load, the fighter shakes like washing machine?

Japan's been trying to build their own aviation industry and are hoping the "technology transfer" will enable them to get a leg up in terms of learning to design and build their own aircraft.
Obviously it's costing them more than they expected...
But hey, if they really do achieve it, at least they can say they did a better job than the Israelis. -
