A large TV guided "bomb" was unveiled or rather declassified only last year which was developed more than 20 years ago, so one could imagine what other capability that DSTA has developed since then till now that is not declassified!!!!Originally posted by equlus84:I was thinking........wad is the difference between guided rockets and missiles? I mean if we master the technics to making 2.75 inch rockets does this mean we can produce larger calibre land based rockets like MLRS? Does this mean we may master the skill to make indigenious missiles like that of at least a VSHORADS. I made this comment as we are license producing the IGLAs. Furthermore, since we have a mechanised IGLAs with a radar unit..... Does this mean with have mastered "black technologies" of some aspects of missiles?

I'm thinking more on the lines of EM weaponry too.Originally posted by tankee1981:Judging from the above mentioned scenario, i think its not too far-fetched an assumption that we already have the technology to manufacture or at least possess weapons such as short ranged SSM/ MLRS.
I suspect in times of extreme desperation we might even manufacture and use chemical weapons. Hint: None of our ASEAN neighbours have chemical weapons but our entire SAF is trained in CD. We definitely have the capability but we are bound by international treaty not to possess or use them. It will most probably be use at a last ditch effort to repel an invasion.
Dun remind me of CD.. i a poor victim of the CD campaign.Originally posted by tankee1981:Judging from the above mentioned scenario, i think its not too far-fetched an assumption that we already have the technology to manufacture or at least possess weapons such as short ranged SSM/ MLRS.
