I am sure there will be other exits because Gombak is a big important camp.Originally posted by Moonstriker:Gombak camp has other exits buddy...
From causeway to gombak camp, takes quite some time too for the train to travel.
They needed a big enuff hill and Bukit Timah was already gazetted as a nature reserve.Originally posted by tankee1981:I am sure there will be other exits because Gombak is a big important camp.
Yes, the train will take some time to come to Gombak from the causeway so we have at least some kind of early detection.
So my point is why build it there in the very first place? I am sure that the Malaysian railways exist long before Singapore's independence which means that the building of Gombak camp most probably comes after independence. Yes we have contingency plans should anything goes wrong but wouldn't it be even better to build the camp or at least the entrance some where else to avoid or minimise the chances of carrying out these contingency plans?

I assume that you are implying that Gombak camp is at the present site of the old Hillview Estate?Originally posted by Dr Who:During World War 2, the Australian Forces who defended western Singapore had their HQ in a place called Hillview Estate.
Does Hillview estate rings a bell?
u nv heard of our gundam projects??Originally posted by acwire_2125:Well, They would have used the strategic of Bukit Timah to their advantage. They may have used Hill View Avenue as a lookout point and they may even have secret tunnels leading to bukit timah.
I remember seeing some caves on bukit timah and they were all fenced up. Maybe they had somthing to do with the camp.
The caves are mostly fenced up for safety reasons lah. They are really dark, wet and smelly. Went into a few when I was a young boy scout many many years ago before it was all fenced up.Originally posted by acwire_2125:Well, They would have used the strategic of Bukit Timah to their advantage.
