Gombak Camp

I saw Gombak camp from outside before. I am wondering why of all places build the MINDEF HQ along the Malaysian KTM railway tracks? In such a way that any vehicles going in and out of Gombak must pass through the tracks.
I think this is not a very good idea. There is a possibility that they load up a train full of SOF, park in front of Mindef to block excess to it and storm the camp.
Unless of course there is a special reason for doing so. Anyone can help me with this? Thanks.

Well, it's possible if "You-Know-Who" wants to attack us. They can park their trains there and block the section off. Then that would take a long time to remove the train and clear it for other vehicles to pass.

Take a long time? Just bomb the train section away from ATGM, 106mm, 84mm, or 75mm good enough already...

Gombak camp has other exits buddy...
From causeway to gombak camp, takes quite some time too for the train to travel. -
The train don't necessary com from Cuaseway. They can declare war and at the same time when the train is passing by, stop there. They train will most probably come from Tanjopng Pagar.

Yes, the train will take some time to come to Gombak from the causeway so we have at least some kind of early detection.
So my point is why build it there in the very first place? I am sure that the Malaysian railways exist long before Singapore's independence which means that the building of Gombak camp most probably comes after independence. Yes we have contingency plans should anything goes wrong but wouldn't it be even better to build the camp or at least the entrance some where else to avoid or minimise the chances of carrying out these contingency plans? -
Gombak camp is guarded 24hours by a force-shield, if you know what i mean.
so, its not easy to bomb lah... -

There is probably an unannounced reason why we want to negotiate a return of the railway land. We were not concerned if KTM does not make a stop in Singapore.
There is an SIR at Gombak, anyway. -

During World War 2, the Australian Forces who defended western Singapore had their HQ in a place called Hillview Estate.

The following are two maps of Hillview Estate in present day Singapore when i did a search on streetdirectory.com

And both turn out to be near Gombak camp. This proves that Gombak camp already exist well before Singapore's independence but under another name. Comments? -
Well, They would have used the strategic of Bukit Timah to their advantage. They may have used Hill View Avenue as a lookout point and they may even have secret tunnels leading to bukit timah.
I remember seeing some caves on bukit timah and they were all fenced up. Maybe they had somthing to do with the camp. -
No, the SIR is not dedicated to the defence of the Gombak Camp, though it's good it's there. There is supposed to be a Gombak defence battalion.
Seeing the KTM train de-railed at Delta, I wonder what could have happened if it happened at the Gombak crossing instead. -

The caves are mostly fenced up for safety reasons lah. They are really dark, wet and smelly.
