  Actually this have been implemented for some time already. But I still want to say that the new non-camoflage name tag and Singapore tag is allows the enemy to see the 'camoflaged' soldier easier. Agree?

  but i think we can be rest assured that in actual combat, the only identification will be the dog tags.
  
  .... unless of course somebody decided to implement bar codes tattoed on each butt cheeks.

  Looks like the MO and medics will need a laser scanner similar to the type used in supermarkets to ID the dead!

  A bit difficult... cos decomposing skin may make it very hard to use the scanner. Not to mention people who get shot in the ass... (by a rifle that is)

  I understand the e-marts haven't been issued the new badges yet. Kinda dumb isn't it? I mean active personnel are supposed to be wearing them since July so why not distribute to the e-marts? After all reservists are expected to buy them too since they only issue 2 sets to each reservist. Or are they expecting us to just survive on 2 sets of uniforms with the new badges.

  Not GPMGs lah.. M240 SAWs. SAF also have 2 per section. But seriously, besides the guy with the ammo pouches on his thigh, where is everyone carrying their ammo? Unless it's one mag per weopon..

  I think insouciant may have made a typo mistake, because its M249 and not M240 which is a GPMG. M240 is the US designation but the Belgiums called it FN MAG. The GPMG which SAF uses is the FN MAG.
  
  Just to be sure that there will be no misunderstanding caused to acwire_2125. The 2 SAWs in one Singapore infantry section are not M249. We use Ultimax instead.

  THe m240 is not a SAW... its more commonly vehicle mounted than anything.
  
  The M1A2 has an M240 coaxially mounted to its M256 120mm smoothbore. And another on the loader's hatch. Its a full fledged MG.
  
  The photo shows a minimi with no visible ammunition.
  
  If i am not mistaken, the M249 cannot be fed via magazine. Its a belt-fed weapon.
