The roots of the Middle East crisis go far too deep to be eradicated with just the return of the kidnapped soldiers. Israelis caught using chemical weapons on Lebanon.
July 20, 2006 -- WMR reported that the Israeli military was using poison gas on villages in south Lebanon. According to a former U.S. weapons expert who served in Iraq, the artillery shell in a photo taken in Lebanon (below) is a chemical weapon delivery device. It is being handled by an Israeli Defense Force soldier and Hebrew lettering can be clearly seen on the armored vehicle. Another chemical weapons shell of the same type can be seen lying on the ground to the right. It is not known what type of chemical is in the chemical canister, however, gas dropped by the Israelis in villages in southern Lebanon has resulted in severe vomiting among the civilian population.
Media commentators have scoffed that Israel, with its relatively unique history, would ever use chemical weapons or poison gas in any war. It is precisely because of that perception that they are using such weapons. The deniability factor prevents the media from taking seriously the credible reports of banned weapons being used by the Israelis

Israel had been steadily winnning the war for survival.
Jordan was the first to (unofficially) make peace with Israel. Then, Israel's greatest enemy - the Egyptians - made peace with Israel.
Iraq is now kaput.
Lebanon is and will always remain a weak state.
Iran is a little too far away.
Syria now remains Israel's only real enemy. But in nearly every war with Israel, they get thrashed very badly.
So, things actually don't look too good for the Palestinians. -
If you were a young Palestinian man, killing Israelis will be the thing to do.
If you were a young Israeli, killing Palestinians will be the thing to do.
There's no right or wrong. It just is.
If anyone can figure out a way to stop this, he/she will be the Nobel Prize Winner of the century. -
Are there any parallels in history that we can draw to guess the outcome of this Israel vs Palestinian conflict?
For example, what about the US vs Native Americans (cowboy/Indian) example?
The white man took the red man's land.
There is peace today, but this is possible because the Natives were nearly eliminated after decades and decades of bitter fighting and today occupy only a marginal existence in the land formerly owned by their forefathers. Lots of atrocities on civilians and terrorist acts were perpetuated by both sides.
But unfortunately for the Israeli, any attempt to genocide the Palestinians will not succeed as the Arabs and the rest of the world will not stand by to let that happen. Even though the Arabs and the rest of the world are really sick of the Palestinians, they still have to pretend that they care. -
I think Palestine should be a part of Israel and then it is another state. I thing only this can help the situation.

Thats not gonna happen. The palestinians want nothing short of independence from Israeli rule. They will never submit themselves to be a state of Israel.

Erm.. sorry. How are FAEs used to clear minefields?? Don't they have PLCs for that?

Further, those things are not guided and from the angle of the launching apparatus.. it seems to be able to go quite a range and inaccurate for mine clearance.. because FAE needs to be deployed above a certain ht for air-bursting and not a percussion weapon. A Typical usable FAE submunitions weigh approximately 100 pounds (54 kg) and contain ethylene oxide with air-burst fuzing and ignited by an embedded detonator to produce an explosion. If you include the rocket propelant and rocket casing.. that soldier is damn strong lah..
BTW, reports are getting in that Israel are using FAE on civilian targets.
And SHOTGUN, one of the uses of FAE are for mine clearance, and are usually Aerial Dropped ... not rocketing them away. I suspect it may not work that way.. then again i'm not expert -
