I understand the need and right for them to defend themselves but their response is way out of proportion. Instead of forcing the Palestinians and Hizbollah to hand over their soldiers and to cease rocket attacks on Israel, they are creating more hatred for the Israelis. They are creating an entirely new generation of recruits for the terrorist organisations, who are willing to die to take revenge for what the Israelis have done to them.
I can understand their plan to force the Hamas government in Palestine and the Lebanon government to cease hostilities towards Israel in Palestinians case and to evict the Hizbollah in Lebanon's case. But the civilian casualties is unacceptably high. Instead of a peaceful outcome, they are indirectly generating greater support for these terrorists. Therefore they may win the battle but not the war. -

It wasn't their land in the first place.
The latest flare up between Hezbollah and Israel wasn't about land at all.
I reckon its like an opening chess move of a bigger middle play. -
