There was a rumour of a 2nd batch many years ago............Originally posted by LAW1:Finally, someone wrote about AMX10P. We had it sometime now people starts to realise its existence.
I appreciate you guys curiousity about this IFV and APC. Actually, there's alot of things/stuffs about this vechicle I would very much like to share but as you know due to security reasons I can't share it here.
The numbers Spartan mentioned is not really that right.......
The AMX10 variant that we have, are specifically made for us. It is a unique variant to SAF, but there are a few flaws.Originally posted by LAW1:Finally, someone wrote about AMX10P. We had it sometime now people starts to realise its existence.

I guess the fact that we didn't aquire more speaks for itself. Pity.Originally posted by LazerLordz:The AMX10 variant that we have, are specifically made for us. It is a unique variant to SAF, but there are a few flaws.
One being structural integrity. I wonder if the succeeding tranches have corrected this problem in the first batch. The equpt. downtime.. hmm, let's just say I always scratched my head at it..
Have been around the interior, and it is a capable platform.Though clouded in half-secrecy and half-mute publicity.
I can't confirm the numbers, but Spartan's numbers are not accurate. They are theoretically very capable amphibious tanks though..Originally posted by insouciant:I guess the fact that we didn't aquire more speaks for itself. Pity.
From the first hand accounts which i heard, i can safely say that you are right...they are very capable amphibious tanks but only in theory.Originally posted by LazerLordz:I can't confirm the numbers, but Spartan's numbers are not accurate. If it ever gets out that is...Originally posted by foga:will Terrex be the replacement for the wheeled APC in SAF?
Gets out as in...?Originally posted by SingaporeTyrannosaur:If it ever gets out that is...
AMX10P are extremely capable amphibious APC and AFV in practical not theory. Its just some other factors that caused its breakdown in operation.Originally posted by tankee1981:From the first hand accounts which i heard, i can safely say that you are right...they are very capable amphibious tanks but only in theory.
Is there another wheeled APC than the V200 in the SAF?Originally posted by tankee1981:From the first hand accounts which i heard, i can safely say that you are right...they are very capable amphibious tanks but only in theory.

Actually this might be a dumb ques and its probably been asked before, but why doesn't SAF just fit a bigger gun to the Bionix to use as a AMX10 replacement?
Thanks!Originally posted by tankee1981:Nope this is not a dumb question.
Yes the BX is amphibious but it is considerably less amphibious as compared to the AMX-10 and even the venerable M113! I don't think its a good idea to explain why its that so in a public forum but you can take my word for it.
Since AMX-10 is being primarily used for amphibious assault operations, an up-gunned BX will not be an ideal choice. Unless of course STK chose to develop a variant of the BX with greater amphibious capability otherwise BX is not a good candidate for replacing AMX-10. In fact, upgrading the older M113 to Ultra cum Arisgator standard might even be a better idea due to our large stocks of M113 and reduce cost as getting a new vehicle is more expensive.
