Why would Brunei be signing an agreement of protecting each other in times of war with Singapore?
The British are the ones who is protecting Brunei with Britain own armed forces.
And Brunei undertook a defence agreement while the defence policy is under the British?
I agree certain autonomy was granted...but defence is not one of them. -

We as a developed nation have an unspoken 'oligation' to help countries in our region when there are in need such as when natural diaster strikes. But we need not do so if we chose not to as there is no legal oligation to do so. A military invasion is also the same it doesn't mean that a fellow ASEAN country is being invaded we have the responsibility to help. This is because ASEAN is not like NATO.
I started this thread to find out whether we have any legal obligation to come to Brunei's aid through signing of some treaty or agreement, which i am not aware of.
