Recently, I saw this drum magazine design on this PRC military webby. It's design is different from the ultimax100 drum magazine we use. I mean the magazine is loaded from the back by removing the lid. Thus this mean one do not need to rely on the factories to load ur drum magazine. The exact difficulty our ultimax100 drum faces. Maybe ST can learn their design and apply to our ultimax.
The chinese mag is designed for their section support weapon, the type81 LMG

A regular biscuit tin Only disadvantage is that they should've made the lid translucent like the Ultimax.
Isn't the Ultimax magazine also loaded by removing the back lid?

Did the site say how heavy this drum magazine is when empty?
Anyone care to factor a guess? I would say about 2 kg.

It looks pretty good as it doesn't need machine to reload. But the total capacity is less than the 100 rd drum which we use for the SAW. But no worries because we will have to adapt this technique anyway since the calibre the PLA uses is not 5.56mm

it loads easier with the CHinese Drums than the Beta C mag, U100 drums and the Russian 75 rd drum. However, once the chinese drum is loaded, you need to crank the back crank to get the spring tension/
Its quite effecctive way to load and do not get a soar thumb!
If I can recall the U100 drum has to be loaded one at a time from the top and it requires a machine to lpoad the full 100rds.
The chinese drums comes in both 75 rd and 100 rd!

A bit like airsoft, then?
Flanking half way, alamak, no spring tension... *opens up magazine and cranks spring*

the crank is actually in the back of the magazine! so! after the back plate is close! you crank it to the right tension and thats it!... howvwer I foundd out that if you do not fully load the drum! have a few empty space in there, there will be some feeindg problem!
