Been discussed in JDW and ADJ since 2003. Patriot PAC-3 was also said to be another system we were interested in.Originally posted by tankee1981:The version of S-300 is more possible because the launcher is made up of 4 tubes and Singapore is rumoured to be interested in the S-300.
SCUD? you've got to be kidding.Originally posted by touchstone_2000:Hmm if you believe in everything you read, then you should know that SAF is extremely interested in the following:
1. Scud missiles
2. Wing In Ground effect (WIG) aircraft.
The S-300 variants are a good buy.. the enclosed tubes does not require maintanance for ten years. Much cheaper and reliable than the Pac-3.Originally posted by Shotgun:Seriously speaking, given Singapore's infocomms infrastructure, im not surprised if about 2 batteries of those S-300 are needed to cover the whole island. Our infrastructure im sure can support having the command nodes of the S-300 further apart than usual.
not really... i read the JDW as well.. there was a report on SAF interest in SSM ... from russia.Originally posted by LazerLordz:SCUD? you've got to be kidding.
Russian SSM yes. But not the SCUD range.Originally posted by tripwire:not really... i read the JDW as well.. there was a report on SAF interest in SSM ... from russia.
but other then that one single report... there were no further reports... either it went up in smoke.. or it went under.

Nope, next. Besides i dun think i can really describe what i really saw. All i remember was vehicle with a long tail, covered in canvas, and under the canvas looks like multiple tubes.Originally posted by tankee1981:
I just got to say this, this (multiple tubes thingy) could be some false alarm lah! Who knows, the vehicle could be transporting some tubes to be laid in some military camps for the flow of NEWater there! hahahahaOriginally posted by Shotgun:... Back then i first thought it was some kinda MLRS system.
