Hmm. Or it could be the M113 ADV.Originally posted by Shotgun:I believe i saw a canvas covered vehicle with what looks like multiple tubes under the canvas. I thot it resembled an S-300 system... seriously.
The M113s will continue to soldier on for a long time lar. Those are liable vehicles capable of multiple roles. Our ULtra conversion are perhaps one of the best upgrades an M113 can recieve. + Our M113s used for so many purposes already...

No it was not on a low loader. It was on military tonner kinda vehicle. But the front part of the vehicle do not resemble the S-300 at all. Yes, it was big. Probably the total length was abt 2 5-tonners.Originally posted by tankee1981:I get the impression that you meant the canvas covered vehicle is being transported on a low loader. Can't really remember if its as fat... its been many years.
Those cages cannot anyhow mount one. Must be a very carefully calculated distance away from the hull. There is a certain distance that must be avoided, or the rpg can become a super rpg. The idea is u want the penetrator to be formed too far from the vehicle such that it does not have the strength to penetrate and breaks up on contact with the hull instead. Otherwise, it can also shred the relatively fragile head of a Heat round. No copper lining, no shape charged warhead.Originally posted by moca:Just like M2 "Bradley" or M1 "Abrams", apparently, M113 have the name "Gavin" ... yuck...
Thank goodness we call it the M-113 and not "Gavin"...
Luckily for history the name of the guy who invented the best AR in the world is called Kalashnikov. Imagine if his name is "Peter".
"Insurgents armed with Peters inflitrated across the border last night and..."
Our next tank will be called SM-3 "John Tan".
Anyway, we should fit these anti-RPG cages to our M113's. I know lots of old HDB flats used to have them on their windows, so maybe can recycle...
There is also a "steel belt" they can install around the vehicle that can defeat 14.5mm "and beyond"...
Read this page on the M113...http://www.combatreform.com/m113combat.htm

I think what you have seen may be a SCE vehicle for river crossing. I can't find the picture which i have seen but the below vehicle taken from the Mindef website look some what like what i have seen and its really huge. Is this what you have seen?

the duck tours vehicle.. -.-

It was a large vehicle, with lots of tubes behind. Resembles a S-300 launcher, but perhaps a little thinner.
Front vehicle does not resemble the S-300's vehicle.
and with Green Pine eh.Originally posted by tankee1981:You may have seen a classified vehicle...judging from your description it may be either a long range SAM like the S-300 to replace the I-HAWK or a MLRS. This is getting exciting!
Originally posted by ShotgunThe version of S-300 is more possible because the launcher is made up of 4 tubes and Singapore is rumoured to be interested in the S-300.
landbased harpoon launcher...?
I'm more inclined to believe its a S-300 look alike. =D
