The Vastergotland class submarines which RSN have getting is going to be upgraded before handing over to us. It is widely perceived that the end product will be similar to that of the Gotland class in the Swedish navy.
I have noticed that the diameter of the Popeye Turbo cruise missile which is able to be launched from a submarine have a diameter of 21 inches. On the otherhand the Gotland class submarines have four 533mm torpedo tubes. If one convert 533mm to inches then the result will be 21.32 inches. This means that theoretically the Popeye Turbo missile have the potential to be deployed on our newer submarines! Any chance we will be getting them?

If sg decides 2 arm its subs with missiles, i think their first chioce is still harpoon

I agree on this but the Israelis are more likely to sell us a sensitive weapon like submarine-launched cruise missiles as compared to the US. I think it comes cheaper as well!

Gotland class sub to US for 1 year at US$20m.
